Scholarship Applications

The Military Spouses of Newport (MSON) awarded a total of $22,000 USD to 16 students in 2026.  Since 1985, MSON has supported the local military community with educational scholarships and is pleased to have continued the tradition this year.   

Scholarships were merit-based and awarded in three categories: 

1. Graduating High School Seniors 

2. Spouses of Active Duty Military Members  

3. Dependent Child (Other than a High School Senior) for post-secondary education

Military Spouses of Newport (MSON) is a non-profit 501(c)(7) organization in Newport, Rhode Island that represents and supports spouses of active duty and retired service members of all branches of service and ranks. MSON is not a part of/does not represent the views of Newport Naval Station, the United States Navy, the Department of Defense or any of its components and has non-governmental status.
