Military Spouses of Newport (MSON) had the honor of supporting four organization with its 2026 Community Grants program. MSON strives to support our local community each year by donating funds it raises to local non-profits. MSON awards community grants to non-profit organizations directly benefiting military families and is pleased to continue this tradition this year by supporting: Melville Elementary School Portsmouth High School Parents Helping Students Organization Portsmouth Middle School Parent Teacher Organization The Sugar Bear Foundation Military Spouses of Newport (MSON) is a non-profit 501(c)(7) organization in Newport, Rhode Island that represents and supports spouses of active duty and retired service members of all branches of service and ranks. MSON is not a part of/does not represent the views of Newport Naval Station, the United States Navy, the Department of Defense or any of its components and has non-governmental status. Check back next winter to apply for next year.The Military Spouses of Newport (MSON) looks back at the 2024 Grant Award recipients. In total, $5,000 was awarded to seven, local organizations. Grants are awarded to organizations that directly benefit military service members and their dependents in Rhode Island. Funds awarded support existing programs, the expansion of programs, or the creation of the new ones.
